At first glance, the Godin Session R-HT Pro looks like a pure rock machine. With its reversed headstock, fixed bridge, and iconic PAF-style humbucker, it’s easy to assume this guitar focuses solely on heavy riffs and distortion. But looks can be deceiving—this instrument offers much more versatility.
Godin equips this guitar with a carefully selected pickup configuration. The Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1B humbucker at the bridge delivers rich, powerful tones. In the middle and neck positions, two USA-made Lace Sensor Hot Gold single coils add clarity and brightness. The combination of these pickups, along with a 5-way switch, volume control, and a push-pull tone knob, creates a massive tonal range. Whether you want warm distortion or crisp, articulate cleans for arpeggios, the Session R-HT Pro delivers both effortlessly.
Godin builds this guitar entirely in Canada using a Canadian Laurentian Basswood body and a Hard Rock Maple neck. The Rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth playing feel. The acoustically tuned semi-gloss matte finish and string-through-body hardtail bridge work together to enhance resonance and sustain. This thoughtful design lets the guitar vibrate more freely, producing a livelier tone.
The reverse headstock features a vintage-style Godin logo, adding a touch of classic flair to the modern build. Altogether, this guitar blends old-school inspiration with new-school performance.
The Godin Session R-HT Pro Retro Orange—yes, it rocks, but it does so much more.
