The Ibanez PIA3761-XB is the Onyx Black version of the Steve Vai PIA signature electric guitar. Made in Japan, it combines a sculpted alder body with a five-piece maple and walnut neck, a rosewood fingerboard and hardware intended for technically demanding guitar playing. The PIA Blossom inlay gives the instrument its distinctive visual identity.
Neck and playing feel
The PIA five-piece maple and walnut neck is paired with 24 jumbo stainless-steel frets featuring Ibanez Prestige fret-edge treatment. Its full 648 mm scale, rosewood fingerboard and locking nut suit precise fretting and stable vibrato work. The Edge bridge provides a floating tremolo system for expressive playing.
DiMarzio UtoPIA pickup system
The HSH configuration combines a passive ceramic DiMarzio UtoPIA humbucker in the neck position, an Alnico single-coil in the middle and a passive ceramic UtoPIA humbucker at the bridge. This offers both humbucker and single-coil-style tonal options. Gold-coloured hardware complements the Onyx Black finish.
