Ibanez URGT100-BK Tenor Ukulele

The Ibanez URGT100-BK is a tenor ukulele with the distinctive double-cutaway design of an Ibanez RG electric guitar. Its compact proportions, black high-gloss finish and 24-fret neck give it an unusual contemporary appearance, while the spruce top and okoume back and sides preserve the familiar warmth of an acoustic ukulele. A built-in pickup and tuner make it suitable for practice and live amplification.

RG-inspired body with full tenor scale

Despite its electric-guitar-inspired shape, the URGT100 is a four-string tenor ukulele with a 432 mm (17-inch) scale and standard G-C-E-A tuning. The longer tenor scale provides more space between frets than a soprano or concert model and can be comfortable for fingerstyle arrangements. The double cutaway helps players reach the upper registers, while 24 frets provide an extended melodic range.

Spruce, okoume and player-facing sound port

A spruce soundboard and okoume back and sides give this instrument a traditional wooden acoustic construction beneath its modern shape. The okoume neck features a C-style profile, while the purpleheart fingerboard and bridge create a contrasting visual detail. A side sound port helps the player hear the acoustic sound more directly during seated practice.

AEQ-2UT electronics and tuner

An Ibanez undersaddle pickup connects to the AEQ-2UT preamp, which offers volume, bass and treble controls with a built-in tuner. The quarter-inch endpin output connects to a compatible acoustic amp, mixer or interface. The system runs from two CR2032 batteries, so check their condition before performing. A tuner built into the instrument is convenient for making quick adjustments between songs.

Portability and included equipment

Chrome die-cast tuners, standard Aquila Nylblack tenor strings and an included gig bag round out the everyday setup. The compact size suits travel, lessons and small performances. Players choosing a first ukulele should compare the tenor size with soprano and concert alternatives because string spacing and overall feel differ.
