Ibanez AUC10E-OPN Cutaway Concert Ukulele

The Ibanez AUC10E-OPN is a concert-size electro-acoustic ukulele designed for easy acoustic practice and convenient amplification. It combines a spruce top and solid paulownia back and sides with a distinctive comfort-focused AU body. A built-in pickup and preamp give you control over your plugged-in sound, making it useful for musicians who alternate between playing at home and connecting to an amplifier or sound system.

Concert-size feel and comfortable body design

With a 15-inch (382 mm) scale, the AUC10E offers more fret spacing than a soprano ukulele while remaining portable. The beveled cutaway makes it easier to reach the higher frets, and the smoothly rounded neck heel helps the left hand move near the body. An elevated forearm rest provides a comfortable point of contact for longer sessions. These details make the design attractive for players developing more involved fingerstyle arrangements.

Spruce top and solid paulownia construction

The spruce soundboard works with the lightweight solid paulownia back and sides to produce a responsive, clear acoustic voice. Stereo sound ports at the waist allow more sound to reach the player during normal performance. The okoume neck, purpleheart fingerboard and 19 frets support a familiar concert-ukulele playing experience. As with any acoustic instrument, your technique and string choice will have a meaningful influence on the final sound.

Electronics and built-in tuner

An Ibanez undersaddle pickup feeds the AEQ2U preamp, with onboard Volume, Bass and Treble controls and a built-in tuner. The output uses a standard quarter-inch endpin jack, making it straightforward to connect to a compatible amplifier or mixing system. The electronics run on two CR2032 batteries, so keep spares available if you regularly play amplified. The integrated tuner is also convenient when preparing for lessons or performances.

Who should choose the AUC10E?

This model suits players who want a comfortable concert ukulele with both acoustic character and stage-friendly electronics. If you will never plug in, a non-electrified instrument may be simpler; if amplified performance matters, the AUC10E provides a useful all-in-one setup.
