Ibanez AUC14-OVL Cutaway Concert Ukulele

The Ibanez AUC14-OVL is an acoustic concert ukulele with a comfortable modern body design. It pairs a sapele top with solid paulownia back and sides, creating a lightweight instrument with a clear, responsive sound. The Open Pore Violin Sunburst finish gives it a warm appearance, while the body contours and sound ports provide practical benefits for players who spend long periods practising or performing.

Concert size for chords and melody

The AUC14 uses a 15-inch scale, giving it more room between frets than a soprano ukulele while remaining easy to carry. This can be helpful if you move between strummed accompaniment and fingerstyle melody lines. It has 19 frets and a beveled cutaway, making upper positions more accessible without sacrificing the compact nature of a concert-size instrument.

Lightweight solid paulownia and sapele top

Sapele is used for the soundboard, with solid paulownia for the back and sides. The lightweight body supports a comfortable playing experience and an articulate acoustic response. Two side sound ports direct more sound toward the player, which can help you monitor your touch without leaning over the soundhole. The natural response will still vary with technique, room acoustics and strings.

Details that improve playing comfort

An elevated comfort armrest helps the picking arm rest naturally without pressing heavily against the top. The edgeless heel smooths the transition into higher frets, and the okoume neck has a purpleheart fingerboard. The double-hole purpleheart bridge is intended to make string changes more manageable. Factory Aquila Nylblack strings complete the setup, and a gig bag is included for everyday transport.

Who should choose the AUC14?

This model is suitable for ukulele players who value ergonomic design, light weight and a lively unamplified sound. Its comfort features are especially useful for longer lessons and performance sessions. If you need built-in pickup electronics, compare it with the Ibanez AUC10E instead; the AUC14 is the acoustic option. Barbad Musical Instruments can help you choose strings, carrying protection and other ukulele accessories in the UAE.
