Ibanez JEM77P-BFP Electric Guitar

The Ibanez JEM77P-BFP brings Steve Vai’s unmistakable JEM design into the Premium series, finished in Blue Floral Pattern. It is a performance-focused electric guitar for players who want expressive lead sounds, a fast-playing neck and the distinctive visual details of the JEM family. Its combination of DiMarzio pickups and a double-locking tremolo is particularly useful for musicians who move between articulate clean phrases and high-energy solos.

Blue Floral Pattern and the signature JEM body

The Blue Floral Pattern finish gives this JEM an unmistakable identity, complemented by the Tree of Life inlay and the signature monkey-grip body handle. Beneath the decoration is an American basswood body, chosen for its comfortable balance and familiar solidbody response. The finish and inlay make the instrument visually striking, but the real reason to consider it is the combination of comfortable upper-fret access and responsive hardware.

Wizard five-piece neck and 24 jumbo frets

A five-piece maple and walnut Wizard neck with KTS titanium reinforcement rods supports stable, confident playing. The maple fingerboard carries 24 jumbo frets with Ibanez’s Premium fret-edge treatment, helping position shifts and bends feel smooth. The 25.5-inch scale suits familiar standard tuning and a wide range of rock and fusion technique. Players who have never tried a very slim neck should compare its feel with a thicker profile before buying.

DiMarzio Gravity Storm and Evolution pickups

The JEM77P uses DiMarzio Gravity Storm humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, with an Evolution single-coil pickup in the middle. A five-way selector provides both full humbucker tones and brighter blended combinations. This layout is useful when a song moves from clear rhythm work to singing lead lines or saturated distortion. It offers meaningful flexibility without requiring complicated onboard electronics.

Edge-Zero II tremolo and everyday considerations

The Edge-Zero II double-locking tremolo is built for expressive vibrato and more dramatic pitch effects, with a lower-profile design for playing comfort. As with most floating tremolo systems, changing string gauges or tunings requires more setup work than on a fixed-bridge guitar. Ibanez lists a gig bag with the model, but confirm the supplied package before ordering. The JEM77P suits players who intend to use its expressive features; if you prefer simple alternate tunings, consider a fixed-bridge alternative.
