Vox AC4C1-BL – Blue Combo Amplifier | 4W All-Tube Class A

The VOX AC4C1-BL delivers classic British-style guitar tone in a compact four-watt tube combo. Styled with distinctive blue cosmetics, it takes inspiration from the celebrated AC30 Top Boost circuit while offering a simpler setup for close-range playing, recording and personal practice. Its tube circuit is part of the sound and response; it should not be confused with a digital modelling or solid-state amplifier.

Genuine tube tone in a compact combo

The AC4C1-BL uses two 12AX7 preamp valves and one EL84 power valve to produce four watts of output. That is considerably less power than a large stage amplifier, but tube amplifiers can still reach substantial room volume as they are pushed. The AC4 format is appealing when you want to explore how pick attack and guitar-volume changes affect a driven amplifier without setting up a large head and cabinet.

AC30-inspired Top Boost character

Gain, Treble, Bass and Volume controls let you move from cleaner, bright-edged responses into richer overdrive. The separate Gain and Volume controls make it easier to find an appropriate balance between saturation and listening level. The tone recalls a classic VOX approach—clear upper frequencies, responsive midrange and a lively feel—although the actual result will depend on your guitar, pickups and the room.

Celestion speaker and cabinet connection

A custom 10-inch Celestion VX10 speaker is built into the cabinet. This gives the amplifier an immediately usable all-in-one format for home or studio sessions. An external speaker output also allows compatible speaker-cabinet use, subject to the amplifier’s required load impedance. Never connect a tube amplifier to an unsuitable speaker load or operate it against the manufacturer’s instructions.

Legacy model and buying guidance

VOX identifies the AC4C1-BL as a legacy model that is no longer in production. That makes it worth confirming the exact condition, accessories and warranty arrangements for the specific unit offered rather than assuming it is a current factory model. This amp suits guitarists who value simple controls, classic VOX drive and a compact footprint. Barbad Musical Instruments can assist with amplifier selection and delivery in the UAE.
