Godin A6 Ultra Denim Blue Flame with Bag

Godin A6 Ultra Denim Blue Flame — Steel-String Hybrid Guitar with Bag

The Godin A6 Ultra Denim Blue Flame combines guitar-style magnetic-pickup playing with an acoustic-oriented undersaddle transducer. It is a steel-string hybrid guitar, not a nylon-string Multiac. Its chambered construction and Denim Blue Flame high-gloss figured-maple appearance make it useful to compare if you switch between electric and acoustic-flavoured sounds on stage or in a studio.

How the two sounds work

A Godin humbucker at the neck handles the magnetic/electric signal, while a Godin undersaddle transducer and onboard preamp provide the acoustic-oriented signal. The instrument has two outputs labelled electric and acoustic/mix, allowing you to explore separate or combined routing with suitable equipment. Different amps, DI boxes or an audio interface may be needed for your intended signal chain; the guitar itself does not guarantee an exact amplified sound or feedback-free performance.

Construction and playing feel

Godin specifies a two-chambered silver-leaf-maple body with Laurentian basswood wings and a figured-maple top veneer, together with a mahogany neck and Richlite fingerboard and bridge. Its 25.5-inch scale, 16-inch fingerboard radius and 22 frets help describe the playing layout. Published nut-width figures vary across dealer materials; check the actual supplied unit if this measurement is important to your technique.

Key specifications

Is the A6 Ultra the right Godin?

Choose according to your strings, technique and amplification needs. The Godin Arena Flame Maple CW EQ is a nylon-string guitar with LR Baggs Element electronics, while the A6 Ultra uses steel strings and offers both magnetic and undersaddle pickup paths. These models are not interchangeable substitutes.
