Ibanez GRX70QA-TKS Electric Guitar

The Ibanez GRX70QA-TKS brings the familiar Ibanez RG-style body shape into an accessible electric guitar suited to learners and developing performers. A quilted maple art-grain top gives the Transparent Black Sunburst finish its layered appearance, while the comfortable double-cutaway body and flexible pickup selection make this a practical guitar for exploring several rock and pop styles.

Comfortable GIO body and playing feel

The GRX70QA uses a poplar body with RG-style contours and a maple GRX neck. A jatoba fingerboard carries 22 medium frets, supporting a comfortable mix of chord playing, melodic lines and introductory lead techniques. Its 25.5-inch scale is typical for many electric guitars and works with standard tuning and widely available strings. Players should consider the instrument’s neck feel and setup quality along with its appearance.

HSH pickups for a wider range of sounds

The HSH configuration combines humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions with a single-coil pickup in the middle. A five-way selector offers different pickup combinations, letting you compare fuller rhythm tones with brighter responses for clean parts. This versatility is useful when you are still discovering which styles or amplifiers you prefer. Work with your amplifier’s gain and EQ rather than assuming a particular pickup alone will create a finished sound.

T106 tremolo and regular maintenance

The T106 bridge lets you add basic vibrato using the tremolo arm, while also providing standard adjustments for string height and intonation. It is simpler than a double-locking floating tremolo but still benefits from a careful setup if you use the arm often. Routine tuning, suitable strings and a comfortable action can make a large difference to how enjoyable a beginner guitar feels.

Who should choose the GRX70QA?

This is a sensible first or second electric guitar for students seeking a versatile sound and the familiar Ibanez playing shape. Its visually distinctive top and easy-to-understand controls suit practice, rehearsals and early recording experiments.
