Paul Gilbert design in a compact format
The PGMM31 retains 24 frets within a shorter playing length. Consider it if you want less distance between frets for chord stretches, or prefer a compact electric for regular practice. Fit depends on your hands and playing position, so scale length is a useful comparison point rather than an age recommendation.
Common questions
Is the PGMM31 a full-scale guitar?
No. The PGMM31 has a 564 mm (22.2-inch) scale, compared with 648 mm on the Ibanez GSA60. Scale length measures the vibrating string length, not the instrument’s total length.
Does it use normal guitar tuning?
Yes. Ibanez specifies standard E–A–D–G–B–E tuning, from the lowest string to the highest, with .010–.046 factory string gauges.
How are the pickups controlled?
A five-way selector offers humbucker and coil selections, with a single volume knob. There is no separate tone knob. The F106 fixed bridge does not use a tremolo arm.
