Korg KROSS2-88 — practical comparison
The KROSS2-88 provides a weighted 88-key Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) keyboard. That is a substantive difference from the KROSS2-61, which uses 61 unweighted velocity-sensitive keys. Both are workstations rather than single-purpose digital pianos; the choice depends on whether weighted playing feel or portability matters most.
| Keyboard | 88-key NH graded hammer action |
|---|---|
| Aftertouch | Not supported |
| Sound engine | EDS-i (Enhanced Definition Synthesis – integrated) |
| Maximum polyphony | 120 notes in single mode; varies by sound |
| Sample performance | 16 sampling pads |
| Recording | 16-track MIDI sequencer and audio recorder |
| Target use | Stage keyboards, music production and home playing |
What to check before ordering
Before comparing this instrument with the KROSS2-61 or a piano, consider transport weight, action preference, a suitable sustain pedal and the necessary amplification or headphones.
