The Sterling by Music Man SR30-SBK StingRay revisits the Music Man StingRay guitar’s bold offset silhouette in a straightforward, performance-friendly format. Its Stealth Black finish, oversized 4+2 headstock and dual-humbucker layout offer a distinctive alternative to familiar double-cut designs. This is the six-string guitar, not Sterling’s similarly named StingRay bass.
Offset body and comfortable neck
The SR30 uses a poplar body with familiar Music Man-inspired contours and a hard maple neck held by a five-bolt joint. Its 25.5-inch scale, 12-inch fretboard radius and 22 narrow frets support comfortable chords and precise single-note playing. A laurel fingerboard provides a smooth fretting surface, and the matte black appearance is complemented by a matching pickguard.
Two humbuckers for expressive electric sound
Two ceramic humbuckers give the SR30 a full, direct electric guitar sound. A three-way pickup selector provides neck, bridge and combined positions, with separate master Volume and Tone controls to make adjustments uncomplicated. This configuration suits players who move between clean rhythm, punchier rock sounds and lead playing without the need for complex switching.
Fulcrum tremolo and 4+2 headstock
The vintage-style fulcrum tremolo allows gentle vibrato and expressive pitch movement when properly set up. Traditional die-cast tuners occupy a distinctive oversized 4+2 headstock. Because this is a tremolo guitar, string gauge and tuning changes may require a setup adjustment. Sterling does not include a gig bag as standard for the SR30, so choose carrying protection separately unless offered as part of a Barbad bundle.
Who should choose the SR30?
The StingRay SR30 is well suited to players who enjoy an uncommon offset shape but want familiar humbucker controls and a regular full-scale playing feel. Its understated Stealth Black finish fits rehearsals and stage use alike. Barbad Musical Instruments can help with amplifiers, cases and UAE delivery.
