The Dunlop CBM95 Cry Baby Mini Wah delivers the expressive sweep of a traditional Cry Baby wah in a pedal that takes up roughly half the space of a standard model. It is a practical choice for guitarists with crowded pedalboards, musicians who travel regularly and players looking for several classic wah sounds without carrying multiple pedals. Despite its smaller footprint, the CBM95 retains a full-range rocker movement and Dunlop’s well-known Fasel inductor character.
Three switchable wah voices
An internal three-position switch lets you choose between Low, Vintage and GCB95-style settings. Low gives the wah a darker, deeper frequency range; Vintage offers a warmer, more old-school response; and the GCB95 position recreates the brighter, more familiar Cry Baby Standard voice. This matters when moving between blues, funk, classic rock and higher-gain leads, where the ideal frequency sweep may be quite different. The switch sits inside the pedal rather than on its exterior, so set your preferred voice before a performance.
Full sweep in a smaller pedal
The CBM95 keeps a full physical rocker sweep despite its compact body. Moving the treadle changes the emphasised frequency, creating the vocal-style effect used in rhythmic funk parts and expressive guitar solos. Placing the pedal before or after a distortion effect can also influence how strongly the sweep stands out. True bypass switching keeps the effect out of the signal path when disengaged, helping preserve a straightforward pedalboard setup.
Power and pedalboard planning
The pedal can run from a 9V battery or a compatible external 9V power supply, sold separately. Its smaller size saves space, although you should still check access to the input, output and power connectors when planning a tight board. The compact treadle may take a short adjustment period for players accustomed to full-size wah pedals.
Who should choose the CBM95?
Choose the Mini Wah if you like the expressive Cry Baby sound but want a more space-efficient setup or the ability to choose between several frequency voicings. If you prefer a bigger treadle underfoot, the standard GCB95 may feel more natural. Barbad can help with power-supply compatibility, patch cables and UAE delivery arrangements.
