MXR M75 Super Badass Distortion Guitar Pedal

The MXR M75 Super Badass Distortion gives electric guitarists a flexible way to build their drive sound. Its analog circuit can cover restrained crunch, thick classic-rock distortion and more aggressive modern tones. Instead of offering only a single tone knob, it provides separate Bass, Mid and Treble controls, which makes it easier to match the pedal to different guitars, amplifiers and playing styles.

From edge-of-breakup crunch to heavy distortion

The Distortion control determines how much drive the pedal adds. At lower settings, it can supply extra grit and sustain for blues, rock or punchy rhythm parts. Higher settings produce a more saturated sound for powerful riffs and lead lines. Because the pedal covers a wide gain range, players can experiment with several styles before deciding where it works best in their rig. The final sound will still depend on the pickups, amplifier and other pedals in the signal chain.

Three-band EQ for practical tone shaping

Dedicated Bass, Mid and Treble knobs let you adjust the frequency balance independently. Add body to a lean-sounding amplifier, reduce excessive low-end weight in fast riffs, or bring a lead part forward with a more focused midrange. The Output control sets the pedal’s level relative to your clean sound. This flexible control layout is useful for musicians switching between single-coil and humbucker guitars or adapting to different rehearsal and performance spaces.

Easy integration into a guitar pedalboard

The M75 uses true bypass switching when the effect is off. Its metal enclosure is built for regular pedalboard use, and it can operate from a 9V battery or a compatible Dunlop 9V adapter or pedalboard supply. An external power supply is not included. As with any distortion pedal, try it into your amplifier’s clean channel first, then adjust gain and EQ gradually to avoid unwanted harshness or muddiness.

Is the MXR M75 right for you?

Choose the Super Badass Distortion if you want one adjustable distortion pedal rather than a single fixed high-gain character. It suits guitarists who value hands-on EQ as much as distortion intensity. At Barbad Musical Instruments, we can help you compare it with other drive pedals and check power-supply compatibility for your setup in the UAE.
