The Sterling by Music Man AX3FM-NBL Axis brings the distinctive Axis-style body shape to a Neptune Blue electric guitar with a flame-maple veneer. Its full 25.5-inch scale, asymmetrical maple neck and twin humbuckers give players a familiar six-string format with a distinctive feel. The model’s five-way pickup selector provides different combinations for clean passages, driven rhythm and lead playing.
Body, neck and bridge
The Neptune Blue variant uses a poplar body with flame-maple veneer. The hard-maple neck is secured with five bolts and paired with a maple fingerboard, black dot position markers and 22 narrow frets. A 12-inch fingerboard radius and 42 mm nut width suit a range of chords and lead work. The Fulcrum tremolo supports expressive pitch effects.
Pickups and controls
Two passive humbucking pickups are wired to a five-way selector, master volume and tone controls. Die-cast tuners and chrome hardware complete the straightforward layout. The AX3FM-NBL is a full-scale electric guitar, not a short-scale student model.
